2 Quarts cider
2 Sticks Cinnamon
1 tsp. whole cloves (10 whole cloves)
1 tsp. whole allspice
brown sugar 2 tblsp
pint brandy (optional)
apple slices stuck with cloves

Tie cloves, allspice, and cinnamon in a piece of muslin. Combine cider, brandy, brown sugar, to taste in a large sauce pan.
Bring to a boil, stirring to dissolve sugar; then simmer for 10 – 15 minutes. Float apple slices on top.
